Every time I visit the Big Island of Hawaii I make it a point to visit Kilauea. This place humbles me. Such power! Words cannot describe it and even photos cannot fully capture it. In this painting I have depicted a surface flow meandering down the slopes of Kilauea and into the sea. The original painting included a texture relief of black sand from the Kalapana area.
