Last Light – Rainbow Falls and Bird of Paradise – Giclee Print

Near downtown Hilo, Hawai'i Rainbow Falls sits nestled into the lush tropical hillside. Tropical Bird of Paradise flowers line scenes' edge illuminated by the last light of the day. As these waning shafts of sunlight pour over the top of Rainbow Falls they set the misty air aglow.

This is one of 10 paintings by Karen Whitworth created for “Birds of Paradise”, an exhibition at the East Hawaii Cultural Center in Hilo, Hawaii. From February 4th-24th, 2011, her 10 paintings will be on display depicting colorful flora and feathered fauna of Hawaii. From the native species to the tropical favorites, “Birds of Paradise” is an artistic celebration of the delicate flowers and beautiful birds found in the island state of Hawaii.
